FacilitiesThe cottage has three bedrooms - one with a four-poster double bed , one with twin single beds, and one with a single cabin bed. All beds are suitable for adults, although anyone with mobility problems should note that the cabin bed is accessed by a 3 step ladder. The kitchen (pictured opposite) has an electric cooker, a fridge, a freezer, a washing machine, microwave and dishwasher, along with all the normal consumer kitchen goods such as kettles and toasters. There is a six piece bone china dinner/tea service and all the pots and pans necessary for a kitchen of this size. It houses a four seat table, and the adjacent dining/games room has another four seat table. The living room has a television, video and DVD/CD player, and there is a good (if eclectic!) selection of books in the galleried landing. Wireless Internet Access is also available for a small, one-off payment. Please see the booking page to purchase this as an option for your stay. |

What Should You Bring? Clothes, food and a willingness to relax! We aim to provide most things that you would require. CDs, videos and DVDs are not provided, but DVDs and videos are available to hire at the village shop. If you find yourself short of something, we ask that your first stop should be our front door - we are more than happy to loan items wherever possible. All towels, duvet covers and sheets are included in the price of your stay. We try to ensure that there are a few basic staples in the food cupboards - tea, coffee, sugar etc. In keeping with our eco-friendly principles, we do not throw away unopened tins/packets of food from one stay to another - this is not sloppy housekeeping on our part, but a deep-rooted aversion to waste! We also encourage our guests to recycle as much as possible - we are lucky enough to have an excellent recycling scheme, which takes all manner of plastic, paper, metal and glass. The cottage has a private walled garden attached to it, and is accessible from the dining/games room. It has a selection of cooking herbs which guests are encouraged to pick and enjoy, and a large fuel bunker to serve the open fire and Rayburn in the winter. If you would like to be adventurous and cook with the solid fuel Rayburn, we recommend talking to us first, and we will walk you through the delicate process of lighting it! The garden also has a patio set and is an ideal place for a barbeque in good weather - it is a real suntrap... |
