News

We now have a seasonally changing range of home-sourced produce available for sale to cottage visitors, including fresh organic eggs (you can collect them from the chickens yourself, or send your children to do it for you!), freshly picked organic vegetables and home-made preserves, pickles and baked goods. Why not try a slice of the Good Life during your visit?

We can also offer some informal courses in various country pursuits - would you like to bake bread from scratch in a coal-fired range or learn how to spin? Just ask us, and we'll be more than happy to arrange a lesson or two and lend you any equipment necessary!

We are also pleased to announce that Walker's Cottage has been awarded an English Tourist Board "3 Star" quality award, with the comment that the accommodation is "not far off a 4 star". Gaining the extra star would require the installation of new kitchen cupboards, and at the moment we would prefer to keep our handmade wooden cabinetry as we feel it really adds to the rural atmosphere of the cottage. We are, however, always open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas how your stay could be improved - please let us know!

What is Going on in Welbourn?

We are more than happy to point out events which may co-incide with your visit if you are interested in joining in with village life.

Upcoming events include the Welbourn Village Fete on 14th June, an Open Gardens event on the 15th June (Welbourn Gardeners are a dedicated and talented bunch) and a Strawberries and Cream Tea in early July.

If you are staying at Walker's Cottage during any local events, please feel free to come along and join in. You'll find Welbourn villagers extremely friendly and always pleased to meet new faces. Further details can always be obtained from the proprietors.
